New Mexico State Requirements
Continuing Education Hours
New Mexico regulations require that all resident agents complete 15 hours of CE including 1 hour of Ethics each year to retain active license status.
Continuing Education Compliance Date

Course Subject Requirements
Courses must be within the license line held. One hour of coursework related to ethics is required.

Q: What is the license renewal period?
A: Licensees must provide evidence of CE completion on or before the license renewal date, which is based on individual agent date of birth. Annual notice will be sent to all agents on the 15th of each month prior to the agent renewal date.
Q: Are carryover credits allowed from one renewal period to the next?
A: Carryover of up to 12 hours of CE credit is allowed.
Q: Is course repetition allowed?
A: Course repetition within the same renewal period is not allowed; course repetition is allowed from one renewal period to the next.
Q: Who is exempt from meeting CE requirements?
A: Non-resident agents are exempt from Alabama CE is they meet their home state's requirements. Also, agents who have been licensed for 15 consecutive years, and are 60 years of age are exempt from the requirement.

MASSACHUSETTS State Requirements Insurance Continuing Education
Required Hours
60 hours during first 3 years of licensure.
45 hours triennially after initial 3 year period.
A one-time 3 hour Flood course is required of all licensees selling Flood Insurance.
Continuing Education Compliance Date - Same as license renewal date.
License Renewal Date - License renewal date is based on original license issue date and renews triennially.

Course Subject Requirements
At least 1 Credit Hour must be completed in a course approved for lines of insurance for which license is held.
Final Exam
Self-study final exams are required to be monitored by a disinterested third party.

Course Repetition
Credit will not be given for courses taken more than once in each triennial reporting period.
Exemptions
• Producers who have met continuing education requirements for PACE and CPD-L have automatically met the continuing education requirement.
• Individuals acting as instructors for continuing education courses receive the same amount of CE credit as his or her students receive for taking the class. Can only receive credit for teaching once per triennium.
• Individuals licensed in MA prior to 4/5/83 are exempt from continuing education unless new lines of authority were added after that date.
